Rick Perry is more interested in making America a Christian Theocracy.

Will Gov. Perry wreck another distracted driving measure? Maybe so – he just may be texting himself and does not want a distracted driving measure. The Dallas Mornig News? Many people text and drive distracted all the time and will continue to do so – law or no law! Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Have to agree...careless/reckless driving laws exist in all the states. it is like people who do a rolling stop through a stop sign at 15mph. Enforce the law!!!

I drove 50,000-70,000 miles per year for my job and it didn't take a college degree or some low life politician to make me realize I needed to give %100 of my attention to survive. My only accident in 38 years was a drunk driver who had 5 DUI'S on his record. Why doesn't Hussein protect citizens from drunk drivers? More kids are killed by drunks than guns. Drunk drivers are easy to eliminate.

How about if the parents step up and make the kids stop? A lot of the parents are paying for the cell phones anyway so if the parents find out take the phone away fo a while

It would only work if texting while driving was treated as a DUI.

NO....we have not ALL DONE IT. Get real. Some of us have the common sense to not distracted drive. (Kriminey, that is one awkward turn of of a phrase) Not all, no...not even most (maybe), but do NOT throw all of us into that bucket!

Teen deaths on the road is up 19 percent. What do you guess the cause to be??? Cell phones should be fixed to not operate when in the car.

Banning texting and enforcing the ban are two different things. Most of the bans are not enforced.

NO, we haven't all done it, I don't text and drive, but I do sometimes use my Bluetooth through my car audio system to talk to my wife. This is just like conferring with someone that is riding with you, but no texting or holding a phone up to your ear.
