Rising diesel gas prices mean rising prices for many things

WOWK TV -- When the price of groceries go up, sherry hickey notices. "Milk has gone up. All my groceries have went up."

One big reason is because diesel fuel prices are through the roof.

In some places, the price per gallon has gone up by 45 cents over a few weeks.

Trucker, Charles Buck says the load he's hauling will probably cost more than usual for the company that is going to buy it.

"It's frustrating, and it doesn't make a lot of sense why it goes up and down all the time," says Buck, who just paid $433.38 to fill up his rig.

The cost of shipping gets passed on to the customer just like anything else.

Meanwhile, Miss Hickey is would like to see diesel prices drop, so the price of milk drops.

She's not only concerned about the price of unleaded gas anymore.

If it is delivered by truck, diesel prices affect the delivery costs. Be angry!

Costs will continue to go up, unless shipped by rail for the longer distances and use of other fuels like natural gas in fleets.

ULSD was mandated for emmissions along with, DPF, EGR and exhaust after treatment which all add to complexity and cost of new tractors and also lower fuel mileage which is passed to the consumer.
