Given the current political climate this thing is dead. Warren Buffett can keep amassing a fortune from transporting by train.

The bottom line is the KXL would be an overall benefit to the US and Canada. It's environmentally sound, we already import and refine Canadian tar sands oil, it is the safest and most economical mode of transport and it will bring additional jobs.

Gov. Heineman expects to make Keystone XL decision in next few weeks! What 'coming out of the closet' Sneeky and the federal government will not do, the pipeline states will do. Oil drilling on private land and build the pipeline to the gulf coast to export fuel to other countries that will pay a higher price for it. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down! People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! More Refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel is! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

The Koch sewer line should have bee banned by now. Why would any American would want the filthy hazardous oil tar piped across the US. refined in coastal refineries while polluting the surrounding environment, then shipped out to global markets with absolutely no benefit to U.S. citizens unless you are one of the corporate thugs in the Big Oil syndicate.

It is a no-brainer: we don't need it, Canada doesn't need it, only the oil companies need it.
Both the US and Canada would be better off with a pipeline going to the east coast.

The Keystone XL pipeline should have been completed by now, but for government interference. When finally built, the capacity ought to be doubled to handle expected increases in production.
And the country needs many, many more pipelines -- crude oil, refined products, and natural gas.
The only reason for further delay is to benefit Warren Buffett, "the sage of Omaha", who runs the BNSF railroad and profits greatly from moving hundreds of tank cars daily the North Dakota oilfields. If Keystone is built, it will pass right through North Dakota and the local oilfields can be linked to it.
This particular pipeline is too important to the country, to be blocked by one governor. I hope he does the right thing.

“NoBama will find a way to stop it regardless of the consequences...”
Wayoung and the rest of the right-wingers in GB land: President Barack Obama won re-election by a significant margin. He is your president as well as mine and will be for the next 4 years. Now is the time to stop the childish, disparaging word games with his name and pay respect to the Office of the President, even if you do not like its current occupant. The time will come when someone you approve of will hold this office, at which time you will not appreciate this sort of trash talk.
