around here, prices are about the same as last year (3.27 vs. 3.22). Still way too high though.

That's right! Everything is relative: Compared to last month, prices are lower; compared to last year, prices are still too high!

Doesn't give us much confidence that they won't skyrocket again in weeks or months to come.

Like all the other holidays this year, the Grinch prevailed and prices jumped just in time for Christmas at ALL the stations here in the Heartland with the Price Fixing price of $3.25 for regular. Merry Christmas to all you Greedy oil speculators. Hope you all get what you deserve as you are surely deserving to be on Santa's Naughty List.

going up here again. BP was the first here (up a dime on Friday), then Texaco (up 13 cents on Saturday). Rest is stablized at 3.21 for unleaded 87 so far.

They could drop another $1.00 a gallon and they would still be too high.

They've made $3.00 seem cheap. It never should been raised this high.

The problem with this article makes it seem that we should be grateful for our gas prices now being as low as they were last year at this time. They failed to tell us that oil was $98/barrel compared with this year being at $88/barrel. Folks, oil is TEN dollars/barrel cheaper and we are supposed to be happy that we are the same gas price. Does anyone see a problem with this????

Holding steady at $3.15 to $3.21 around me. Lowest prices in NJ are under $3.00/gal.

Lower, yes, but not low. However, they are less the half of what secretary Chu wants them to be. I wonder what they would do with all that extra tax money?

They may be low but rest assured that President Obama and Energy Secretary Chu are doing everything they can to get our gas prices up to the levels they pay in Europe.

Yes, relatively speaking prices are low these days... but if you widen your range of time... you find that even these prices are a bit hefty and they are having their impact on our economy and available funds to spend elsewhere.

This administration wants to keep oil prices high to make "green" energy seem more attractive.
