Gas Glitch Gathers Guzzlers To Pump

KRISTV -- CORPUS CHRISTI - Some drivers in Corpus Christi got an early Christmas gift - cheap gas, really cheap.

You don't usually see long lines at the pump like this unless a hurricane is headed for town.

But for a few minutes Saturday evening, folks lined up around the block when they got word that the Stripes/Valero on Staples at Annapolis was selling unleaded plus gasoline for only 31 cents a gallon.

"A friend told me about it," one man said. I'm told when someone noticed the super low price for gas, he phoned his whole family and several friends to tell them about the computer glitch.

"That the gas was 30 cents for mid-grade, that something was wrong with the tanks," one woman said. I asked, "So what did you do?" "I got in my car and I came down! I need gas," she replied, laughing.
