It stands to reason that a process designed to crack rocks could crack in places they didn't intend--hence, the groundwater contamination.
If fracking is indeed proven to alter/contaminate water sources, it would be prudent to stop using it. It's already been suspected of being the cause of numerous minor earthquakes in Arkansas last year.

The only thing that stands in the way of sustainable and renewable energy sources is the fact that certain morons back anything that is labeled green whether it is viable or not. They throw money after any scam that comes their way instead of doing their homework and crunching the numbers. They should put the money towards something that at least has a chance of seeing the light of day instead of the scam du jour.

Of course, clean energy, means whatever the cost, because that's the way things work in utopia.

Prior news articles over the past 4 days have pointed out he was removed from the meeting for failing to obtain the appropriate press credentials. Funny how that little point was left out of the story.

The article states "And maybe Fox was being disruptive at the subcommittee's hearing on the EPA's findings"
If that is the case, he should have been arrested, just as anyone else would have been.
"Despite popular misunderstanding the right to freedom of the press guaranteed by the first amendment is not very different from the right to freedom of speech. It allows an individual to express themselves through publication and dissemination. It is part of the constitutional protection of freedom of expression. It does not afford members of the media any special rights or privileges not afforded to citizens in general." (Cornell University Law School)

Poison the aquifer and it is the most expensive method for extracting gas

"“We make clear that the causal link to hydraulic fracturing has not been demonstrated conclusively, and that our analysis is limited to the particular geologic conditions in the Pavillion gas field and should be assumed to apply to fracturing in other geologic settings,” James B. Martin, EPA’s Region 8 administrator in Denver, told the House Science, Space and Technology Committee’s Energy and Environment Subcommittee."

There are a few very rich people who want to be richer, and since they can afford to move away from any of the adverse effects of their own greed, they don't care what ill effects there are.
Those who live on the poisoned land can't leave or live on their land, so the only hope they have is for the government to supply them water, or abandon the land and move to a public park, as long as they don't try to put up a tent, then the police will gas a beat them. Of course, if they resist being arrested, they could live in prison.
If we don't get that gas, there are alternatives that may be a bit more expensive.
If we poison the water, the only alternative is to leave or die.

LOL, another opinion piece.
Even the EPA says that their Pavillion report does not condemn fracing.
Josh Fox is a joke anyway, his movie was a joke and has been thouroughly debunked.

I think the pipeline is safer to the environment than fracking

Arresting him infringed upon his freedom of expression. The people of the United States of America deserve better.
The fact of the matter is that supporters of hydraulic fracturing will go to any lengths to debunk the results of the EPA's investigation in order to continue this process -- a process they believe is beneficial to America and will lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
