Thanks for posting this article, NHLiveFree.
Government does have an important role in creating the starts of new technology that eventually becomes businesses.

No reason for the government to let $16 trillion in debt keep them from spending $130 million more.

Do you NAY Sayers ever read the articles before you comment? The projects the article is talking about are all research projects. And actually the track record on investments in research is rather good.

I've got a project recommendation for government. Reduce your work force commensurate with the private sector and, pass on the savings in the form of tax relaxation.

The one thing I have seen this administration back with taxpayer dollars is bankrupt solar companies. How many billions have they wasted?

The liquid fuel from Natural Gas at room temperature would be handy. Some of the others are really reaching. It is interesting to note that the entire cost is about 1/3 what was dumped down the drain a Solyndra and one of these has potential.

Some have opinions that research can't be done without the government paying for it.

"GE Water and Power is getting nearly $4 million to develop a new kind of wind turbine blade made of cloth stretched over a frame" I wouldn't call that "new". The old traditional Dutch windmills have had cloth stretched over their blade frames for centuries.

Sounds good... $130 million, not bad that is one monthly donation we send to Egypt. So, if we cut out all the donations that we send the Eastern countries (so called allies) Congress could BALANCE the budget in a hart beat....
