Car dealer donates minivan so mom can get daughter to doctors

Quad City Times -- It was too cold for crying, but there was no helping the tears.

Eiroctonya “Tonya” Smith no longer will be awash in worry over how she will get her 10-year-old daughter and her wheelchair to monthly doctors’ appointments in Peoria.

Thanks to the kindness of a Davenport car dealer and the generosity of Wish List Quad-Cities donors, the 35-year-old Moline mom is a vehicle owner for the first time in her life. No more buses. No more pleading for rides.

Most importantly, Smith’s beloved daughter, Tatyanna Mann, who was born with cerebral palsy, can count on her mom getting her where she needs to be with much less struggle.

..Jeff’s Car Corner, stepped up with the gift of a 2002 Ford Windstar.

Donations to Wish List paid for several months’ worth of insurance, title fees and gas gift card

Does this make you have a warm and fuzzy feeling? If this is the first car she has ever had, how will she be able to afford the drivers license fees and the insurance when the several months of insurance expires? And be able to buy gas when the gas card does not have any more money on it? Also, plan for any car maintenance and repairs that may come up. Hopefully, having a vehicle 'without the car payments' will be enough to keep the vehicle in operation without too much expenses. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII! - The Day After......
